German football pundits Dietmar Hamann and Lothar Matthäus agree that Borussia Dortmund still have a lower chance of winning the Bundesliga title this season than Bayern Munich and Leverkusen.

Former Germany internationals Lothar Matthäus and Dietmar Hamann both believe Borussia Dortmund have a lower chance of winning the Bundesliga title than Bayern Munich and defending champions Leverkusen, Ufabet Germany reported on Wednesday.

The 2024-2025 Bundesliga season kicks off this weekend with defending champions Leverkusen opening on Friday August 23 with an away game at Borussia Dortmund, while Borussia Dortmund’s host Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday August 24 and Bayern Munich travel to Wolfsburg on Sunday August 25.

For Matthäus, Bayern Munich will regain the Bundesliga title this season, although he sees Borussia Dortmund as having a strong squad and an exciting project. However, from his perspective, BVB are both the Bavarians and the Pharmacy, with Nuri Şahin’s side likely to finish third.

‘Leverkusen and Bayern are the favourites but Dortmund have strengthened their squad very well. They have lost some experienced players but have added new impetus with new ones,’ Matthäus said. ‘Dortmund’s an exciting project but Leipzig and Stuttgart are not far from top teams either.’

Hamann, on the other hand Promotion Ufabet, sees things in contrast to Matthäus, believing that Xavier Alonso’s Leverkusen will be able to win the Bundesliga title again this season, while Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig will finish second, third and fourth respectively.
